Forms of abuse
There are many different types of abuse. The types of abuse that we are talking about today are:
*Bullying
*Child abuse
*Hazing
*Domestic abuse
We will also talk about how to prevent abuse and what to do if you are in an abusive situation.
*Help a friend, neighbor, or relative.
If you notice someone who is stressed out, this may be a cue for you to step in and help. Overworked, impatient, and stressful behavior can lead to regretful decisions as a parent. Helping in little way can make a big impact and take some of the stress away from the parent. Keep in mind though, that just because a parent is stressful doesn't mean they are abusing their child.
*Report suspected abuse or neglect
If suspect that a child is being abused or neglected report it immediately. You can call the National Child Abuse Hotline and they will take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you will remain anonymous.
Child abuse is when a person under 18 is abused or hurt by someone, usually a family member.
Boys and girls are equally victims of child abuse
In 2010 3.3 million reports of child abuse involving 5.9 children were made.
Mothers as well as fathers can abuse their children.
Eighty-one percent of victims are abused by their parents six percent by a relative.

Hazing
Hazing is the practice of rituals and other activity that involve humiliation, abuse, and harassment as a way of initiating a person into a group.
Hazing is often prohibited by law, and depending on how serious the hazing was, it could lead to charges against the people that lead the hazing.

How to prevent hazing
Domestic violence
If you are in a hazing situation report it immediately.
It may be a hard thing to do, but what is happening is not okay.
Seeking counseling is recommended if you have been a victim of hazing
The most important thing to remember is that it is not your fault.
Abusive relationships happen to people who have less power and fewer ways to protect themselves.
Domestic violence is abuse that happens between someone close to you, someone you love, trust, or respect.
People in abusive relationships are more likely to be abused again than victims of any other crime.
