COMBI 185 - Summary

The Combi 185 appliance has a 95% efficient counter-flow heat exchanger, which combines the advantages of the very best heat recovery ventilation, with heat pump technology.

This appliance offers priority switching to heat the water first in the integrated storage cylinder which holds 185 litres. It can be fitted with a bare tube heat exchanger for use with solar heating or a wood-burning boiler for hot water.

Maximum air flow is normally 260m³/h and living areas up to 220m² can be ventilated with simultaneous heating.

2009 HDA Historic Winner
The scheme was praised by the Local Planning Authority for its contemporary interpretation of 1950's design features whilst respecting the setting of the adjacent Listed Grade II buildings.

Included as a Case Study in the recently-published South Norfolk Place-Making Guide, the new development is said to 'respond positively to the site context and builds on the distinctive character of the Tayler & Green scheme including the curved terrace along with the overall scale and form. The high level of detailing to the elevations reflects the existing character and views of the existing terrace are maintained with the open green space enhancing the setting'.
