Teens & Technology
By Shanayah Sharif
Maths
Based on my own observations teenagers in general tend to spend quite a bit of time on electronic devices.
To research this question, I went and recorded all my times spent on devices for a week.
How much time on average a week does a teen spend on technology? (E.g. cell phones, laptops, internet devices etc.) Is this beneficial for teenagers in any way?
English
What are the differences between teenagers in different countries uses of gadgets based on own observations?
Social Sciences
Why is it that most teenagers spend so much time on their devices and social media websites? Will that affect their social skills in the future?
Learning Languages
Does spending more time on devices discourage or help teenagers learn more about the English language? (Like, when looking at and reading so many things in text language, would that affect a teenager's literacy level, which in turn, would it affect their abilities to learn different languages, using proper grammar?)
Teenagers need at least 8 1/2 – 9 hours of sleep each night.
Science
How much sleep does a teenager need? Why don't they sleep early, and lie-in in the morning? Does this have anything to do with the melatonin in their brains?
Is the daily use of devices beneficial for teen literacy levels?

While I was in Philippines, I observed that my cousins there were on their electronic devices a lot.
I have noticed that teenagers in general are spending progressively more time on their electronic devices.
The website, KidsHealth.org has listed some good tips for sleeping more, as shown.

Interviews
I asked a couple of people, of different ages a couple of questions regarding teenagers and their daily use of devices.
The first person I asked, was my friend, Samantha
Next, I asked my aunty, whom has 2 teenage sons
If you want to see a video of Timothy sampling his knowledge, you can watch one here:
