Transcript of Immigration
Answer: The total number of immigrants who came to the United States from 1820 to 2010 was 75356724. This amount compared to the amount in 2010 is 10,299,433. 4. Choosing any country you want, repeat the activity in the question above. Why did you choose your country? What did you learn?
Answer: I decided to pick the country of Russia. In this country there was a large immigration in the years from 1900-1909. There were 1,501,301 immigrants to the United States in that decade. I believe that the reason for the large amount was because of jobs. The Ford industry was created around this time so it could have been people pursuing a job. Scholastic And Immigration
Mr. Allens 4th period 6. At one point in history, the greatest number of immigrants to the United States came from Europe. Look at the data to figure out in which decade that changed. What continent where most people coming from then?
Answer: The decade when the greatest number of immigrants no longer came from Europe was from 1970-1979. This is when Asia had over 500,000 more immigrants come to America than Europe. 9. In the 1930's, immigration to the United Stated declined. Why? What was happening in the 1930's in the United States? Research your answer.
Answer? I believe the reason that the immigration rate dropped was because of the Great Depression. The Great Depression made foreigners afraid to leave everything to come to a place that wasn't in to much better condition. 2. From 1820 to 2010, which three countries had the highest number of immigrants come to the United States? 10. Think about how economics impact immigration. Use your research skills to find out which countries were the richest from 2000 to 2010. (This is usually determined by GDP, or gross domestic product.) How many immigrants came from those countries to the United States? How does that compare to poor countries?
Answer: I noticed that the top three richest country's in the world were Norway, Qartar, and Luxembourg. Qartar and Luxembourg aren't even on the list. Norway only had 344 people immigrate to the United States in 2010. However, in more poor states the statistics are high. The three countries with the highest number of immigrants to come to the united states where Ireland, The United Kingdom, and China. 5.Choose one of the countries you selected in the question above. During which decade or time period did most of the immigrants come to the United States? Why do you think that is? Research your answer. The country I chose was Ireland. The decade in which this country had the greatest number of immigrants was 1850-1859 with 1,029,486 immigrants coming to the U.S. The reason for this mass number is because people where seeking political and religious freedom. 8.
