Airport Planning Level
Airport planning ensures the long-term viability of individual facilities and the system as a whole.
Types of airport planning-
Strategic Level
- Examines long-term structures and determines how well various structures fit with identified goals and objectives
Tactical Level
- Determines short-and-medium-term courses of action that best fit in to overall strategic plans and goals.
Project Level
- Identifies a defined aspect of a tactical plan and determines the optimum manner of executing this aspect in project form.
Forecasting
Airport plan are developed on the basis of forecasts.
From forecasts, the relationships between demand and the capacity of an airport’s various facilities can be established and airport requirements can be determined.
