It is originally developed in 1986 by engineer Bill Smith in Motorola
As a result it emphasized the cycle-time improvement and reducing manufacturing defects to a level of no more than 3.4 per million.
The target consumers of Adidas are consumers who consider themselves athletes, consumers who are active in sports, consumers who are inspired by sports and love sports.
Pivotal strength with the consumers who are 20- to 29-years of age.
. Adidas has been going forward with focusing on the high school athlete who are 14- to 19-years of age

Six Sigma refers to a scientific way of describing quality based on variations that occur in any process-plus or minus three “sigmas.”

Sigma is the Greek letter that signifies the standard deviations in a mathematical formula
1988- Motorola received first Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from the US
1990- Motorola joined IBM, Texas Instruments and Kodak to establish Six Sigma Research Institute
(SSRI)- conceptualize the concept of the Black Belt.
