Chapter 4c: Post-Season Operations Within The NCBA
Post - Season Operations Within The NCBA
Stay in Contact With Your Team
During the off season be sure to keep in contact with returning players. Keep them up to date with planning ideas for the next season and brainstorm with them any potential fundraising ideas and/or potential tournaments and games you'd like to play in the fall

Order Equipment
As a member of the NCBA you will receive complementary bats and game balls (DI teams also choose from 8 batting helmets or catchers gear), but perhaps you know you'll need other equipment (practice balls, gloves, jerseys, etc), the offseason is the time to order to ensure you have all the necessities when the fall season starts.

Complete Paperwork
Whether it be paperwork to renew with the NCBA or any paperwork you may have to complete in order to remain a club or student organization at your school, be sure to get it done during the summer. Completing any required paperwork during the summer will ensure that you do not fall behind and you are ready to go come when school starts up again.

Fundraising

Start to plan your fundraisers early. The sooner you begin working on potential fundraising opportunities the sooner you can begin to raise money to help fund the next season. Fundraising is a simple and extremely effective way to help reduce your out of pocket costs each season.

The NCBA also offers exclusive fundraising opportunities. Don't wait, start fundraising through the NCBA's exclusive offers during the summer in order to cut costs during the season. Contact Tracy Reardon, tracy.reardon@collclubsports.com, 412-321-8440 X 109 to get your fundraisers started!

Have A Game Plan
It's never a bad thing to plan ahead. The off season is a perfect time to look into recruiting, planning tryouts, renting field space, and looking into fall tournaments. Laying the ground work in the off season will make everything operate far smoother once everyone is back at school in the fall.

Promoting Your Team
Put together a team newsletter
Putting together a team newsletter is a great way to spread the word about your team. Give specifics like, who all can play, where you play your games, whom you play against. Anything you think is good for people to know should be on this newsletter.
Social Media
Start up social media accounts for your team. By creating a twitter, facebook, and team website for your team, it acts as streams for you to promote your team. Twitter and Facebook are great avenues to promote major announcements regarding your team, and you can even use links on your Twitter and Facebook accounts to funnel traffic to your team website.
