Born a Libyan giant to the Goddess Gaia and Poseidon.
Gets/Revives his strength by touching the earth of his mother.
Battle of Hercules and Antaeus
Antaeus liked to challenge people and slaughter them to death after winning.
He challenged Hercules on his way back from the garden of Hesperides.
Antaeus defeated
In the beginning there was no clear winner, until Hercules discovered Antaeus strength.
Hercules suspended Antaeus in the air until his powers were gone, crushed him to death.
Meaning of the allusion
When reading books we are grounded and know how to deal with life realistically
When not reading books we are unable to deal with the bad things that life throws our way.
