i.ytimg.com/crayola/flowers

In conclusion this project has taught me so much about specifically the Crayola crayon company and the production of crayons as a whole. I learned so much and I still am going to learn more about the different attributes the Crayola factory has in the United States because I find it all so interesting and I believe there is so much information out there that pertains to crayons. My thesis statement was: Crayola Crayons have enabled children of all ages to express their creativity through providing them with an inexpensive, accessible medium.

Impact of Technology in past/present

The economy for crayons in 1903 was at a good place in time. At this day in time things weren't expensive and you were able to buy a box of 8 Crayola crayons for only a nickel! Which was incredibly cheap and affordable thanks to the economy and where it was at in 1903. The politics of crayons in 1903 were topics concerning the Crayola crayons toxicity and how they were toxic if a child decided to eat them. Another hot topic was that crayons were not biodegradable, therefore they were bad for our environment, Edwin Binney had to stop all of these rumors and had to tell the people that they are wax and of course they are not bio degradable. Trends that concerned the Crayola company were that crayons were so accessible and cheap that everybody was wanting their children to have access to them and to able to color with them. The development of technology as well at this time advanced and took a huge role in the production of the crayola crayons. As technology got more sophisticated and more advanced it helped the production of crayons go smoother and quicker so they could be sold in the stores in a quick matter. Technology is still advancing today and crayons are one of the best products sold on the shelves.

The impacts of technology helped the production of crayons tremendously, crayons are made on an assembly line so as soon as the assembly line got invented production went easier for the making of crayola crayons. Some companies struggle with finding the right technologies for their products but Edwin Binney didn't have a problem what so ever. He had different workers doing different things to make the crayon the most successful product ever. The technology advances through the years helped the economy as a whole because of how much money the company was making and how much money they still are making to this very day. Crayons have created a society that enjoys to be artistic and loves to be creative with their friends/families/children/peers. Crayons are so accessible that they have changed society as a whole. Almost every elementary school will have crayons in every classroom, that shows how the company has impacted society and still is continuing to do so.

Evolution of technology

Annotated Bibliography

The advances of technology is very important for any productions that are going to be sold on the shelf one day. One big advancement was the assembly line which actually changed the whole idea of production. This advancement was a huge help to the Crayola factory and also any other product that had to be made on an assembly line which is almost every single thing. Technology also helped advance the production of everything because it was a faster process therefore companies could make more money quicker and essentially easier. The relevance of faster production due to technology was outstanding, Edwin was able to hire people to work at different sections of the production line and they were able to put their main focus at that point in the line which caused the products that Crayola were producing to be very good products overall.

Edwin Binney was the man, who was behind the invention of the Crayola crayon company. Edwin was born in Westchester Country, New York. He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Edwin resided in Florida after he moved away from his hometown. Edwin married a woman named Alicia Stead and they were happily married with 2 children. Edwin died in December of 1934. Edwin Binney was not just any man; he stood out to others because he had a love for education and for children. Crayola crayons have also made a mark in history by the invention of Crayola markers, paints, and all sorts of different art supplies. Edwin wanted to make a mark in history and that is exactly what he did by inventing the crayons. Edwin traveled a lot to showcase the crayons right when they came out, he would visit schools to show the children how they could draw with them and how they were inexpensive and very accessible, they can be found in any store. The development of the technology got better throughout the years and the Crayons were selling so quickly.
