Transcript of Ethnicity and Cultural Backgrounds in relation to Political Beliefs-Not a bunch of Malarky

By Lucy Pausz Ethnicity & Cultural Background in relation to Political Beliefs: Not a bunch of Malarkey! What peeked my Curiosity: My friends, you must be wondering; How does this project relate to my political beliefs?! *Statistics in class
*What individuals our age think
*Tensions are high 1)Do you identify yourself with a specific political party? Which party and why? If none, why not?

2)What do you believe influences your views, or people's views in general, on government and politics?

3)Do you think that your parent's political views influence your own? Explain

4)Do you believe that a person's ethnicity and/or cultural background can influence their political beliefs? The Questions asked: *Mostly Democrats, Liberals
*Religious beliefs
*Family/cultural influence What I thought I'd find:
*Many people agree that family is a HUGE influence
*Most Minorities are Democratic (thus, Big Bird supporters)...
*Majority of the Caucasian people interviewed didn't have an opinion/Republican
*Ethnicity/Cultural background are a major factor as well What I actually found: *Independent Leaning Democrat
*Mixed race
*Divided household
*Ethnicity/Cultural Thankfully, I was not interrupted over 80 times.... And Big Bird lovers! So, basically, Statistics are to truth as laughter is to Joe Biden: THEY FIT WELL WITH EACH OTHER! So basically, I like a tall glass of water now and then, but I'm your typical educated, teenaged liberal! Oh, and we can't forget those Outliers! Some of the answers I received were so entertaining (at least to me)that I thought I'd share them with you:

*Two Socialists

*One Imperial Liberalist

*Worry about Voters in America because of something they saw on TV

*Assume all minorities all Democratic Anyone remember this guy? So, I decided to ask 5 different people of 5 different races between the ages of 13-18 four questions to help answer my curiosity... The answers were what I expected, yet at the same time not what I expected... However, the best answer of them all was this: What do you believe influences your views, or people's views in general, on government and politics? *My family...

*My friends...

*Some teachers...

*But mostly... MR. ROBERT STAFFORD. "No FOOD in my CLASSROOM!"
