The History of Godzilla 3. How was Godzilla popular? Godzilla was obviously popular because Toho made 15 showa-ara films. Godzilla even got a star on " The Walk of Fame ". Godzilla was a role model to young children. Most of the Godzilla series were for the young ones.Children love dinosaurs. The 1954 film would have been in black-and-white. The black-and-white colors would have covered up all the wires and other things hiding in the shadows. The black-and-white film enhanced the special effects, and would have added to the overall chill of godzilla's nighttime attacks, but Toho Studios had the suggestions of making the movie in color.
