Balin plays the Sage. He is very wise and only buys the truth. He is also very trustworthy. The fool in this ragtag group of Dwarves is Bombur. He is carefree and he loves food. Everyone in the goup of dwarves is an orphan because they are all trying to seek something and get to their home.
Gandalf is the magician. He sometimes gets nervous about his magic but he knows how to control it. He is wise and adventurous. He is also a mentor to Bilbo. He helps him be accepted by Thorin and guides him through his struggles.
Smaug is the Destroyer because he destroys a whole dwarf kingdom for his own good. He doesn't think of others and their health. He is a very cruel dragon who is selfish and self centered.
The Seperation in The Hobbit is when Bilbo leaves on his journey with the Dwarves to get back his home. He is weary about leaving home and he doesn't want to go in the beginning, but then he realizes he must go to get a little adventure back into his life.
