This species is threatened by habitat destruction, rainforest fragmentation and natural disasters. Hawaiian Monk Seal The Monk Seal is located in Hawii. The monk seal was listed as an endangered species on November 23, 1976

Hawaiian monk seals left in the wild Commercial sealing back in the 1800s nearly wiped the species out, They was even once thought to be extinct until rediscovered and immediately placed on the endangered species list Asiatic Lion Asiatic lion populations have suffered due to sport hunting in the 1800s and because habitat loss due to the clearing of jungle forest for extracting wood and human settlement The asiatic lion was listed as an endangered species on June 2, 1970
Dugong A Dugong is a fancy name
for a sea cow Dugong populations have declined due to hunting for its meat and blubber. But in also decline because they are also hunted for there oil because there oil is good for leather Speartooth Shark The speartooth shark was listed as an endangered species in 2008 The speartooth shark is a medium-sized whaler shark found in the tropical waters of the western Pacific Ocean The main threat to the speartooth shark is hunting and habitat degradation. Some are accidently caught by fishermen, and therefore eaten or left to die. Short-tailed Chinchilla an estimated population decline of at least 80% over the past ten years based on a decline in area of occupancy and levels of exploitation. The short-tailed chinchilla can be found in South America Red wolf The red wolf was declared extinct in the wild in 1980 after the last known wild wolves were captured and taken out of the wild to begin a captive breeding program. There are now an estimated 200 individuals found in North Carolina and other areas where they have been reintroduced. The red wolf species was nearly wiped out because of human population growth, hunting, and the clearing of forest, eliminating much of its habitat. Aye-aye
The aye-aye is one of the most unusual primates in the world and is found on the northern east coast of Madagascar Aye-ayes prefer to live in habitats with forests, mangroves, and bamboo thickets, but many live in cultivated areas due to deforesting. Like many other primates that dwell in the forests of Madagascar, this species is threatened by widespread deforestation due to agriculture and development
