The Last Song Presentation By: Maria Sheikh Other Books By Nicholas Sparks Book By: Nicholas Sparks Main Character Analysis I think that the author wants you to realize that Ronnie does have a heart under her shell of coldness that she always displayed. But, i think she is trying to push everyone away because she thinks that if shebrings people close they will abandon her, just as she thought her father did. Ronnie's really caring but hides that she cares, in the book she had a soft spot in her heart for animals and children. Basically anything that she thinks can't help itselve. I think the author had us show sympathy for her because her father has suposedly abandoned her (but later in the book we find out that her father had left her mother because she was cheating on him) and she grew up with her mother who didnt understand why she was always rebelling against everything all the time. Relate/Reflect Angry>:( One part of this book that made me angry was when Ronnie found out that it was her mother who had cheated on her dad,not the other way around, because Ronnie had been angry with her father for nothing. Another part that made me angry was when her dad's funeral ended and she met Will out side but, the two didnt say anything to each other. ronnie didnt even say sorry for blaming him for the fire, and lashing out at him while her father was in the hospital. i was also angry when Blaze put the records (when Ronnie had come to apologize to her) in Ronnies bag when she knew that if Ronnie was caught for stealing again, she would be sent to jail. Laugh :') There wern't many parts in this book that made me laugh because this wasn'ta humourous book, it was more of a romance/tradgedy novel. One part i laughed at in the novel was when Ronnie had finally warmed up to her father and her brother was very confused in the morning when they were being nice to each other. Another part in the story that i laughed at was when Ronnie came form her room after getting ready for Will's sisters wedding and her little brother said:
"Holy Crap!"
and then her father said something along the lines of:
"Jonah we don't use that word in this house"
and then Jonah said:
"Fine, Jiminey crap!" Somethings I Never Thought of I had never thought of how people with seperated parents deal with the seperation and living between parents because I've lived with both my parents for my whole life. This book also made me think of how rebelious children live their lives and sometimes they rebel because they feel misunderstood. also, they might not be ver close to their parents and theyr parents might notunderstand them. Something That Happened To Me There wern't many things in thisbook that i could relate to but one part of this story that remindedme of something i did was: When Ronnie slept outside to protect the sea turtles it kind of reminded me of the time when a pigeon had layed an egg on our balcony and abandoned it; so, we decided to bring the egg in and take care of it but, unlikeRonnie we failed to save the bird...and it died. WOW! :O Somethings in my book that made me say wow was the fact that in New York Ronnie would stay out all night alone at clubs and her mother wouldn't know were she was. Also, how much she and her mum faught was surprising. Another thing that surprised me and made me say "wow" was that Ronnie had been charged for shoplifting twice (even though the secound time it was an accident). Cry :'( i cried when Ronnie and Jonah found out there dad was dying and also when Jonah was confused and thought that his dad would get better if he finished the stain glass window. i also cried when, at the end of there fathers funeral, the light was shining through the finally finsihed stain glass window and it reminded Ronnie and Jonah of ther dad. Another time I cried was when Ronnie finally played the piano for her dad and it was there "Last Song" Plot The Last Song is the story of Ronnie Miller and the summer that she spends with her father at Wrightsville Beach. At the start of the summer, she is a rebellious 17 year old who resents her parents for their divorce; she is mostly annoyed that she is being forced to spend the summer with her strange father, who she hasn't spoken to in three years. She is so angry that she has abandoned the one thing that she and her father used to share in common — playing the piano. She is totally against spending the summer in North Carolina; she doesn't to get to know Will Blakelee, the good-looking beach volleyball player who literally bumps into her during her first day in the South; and she has no desire to reconnect with the father who left her, her mother, and her brother. However, a run-in with the wrong crowd along with a nest of endangered loggerhead turtle eggs results in Ronnie's unexpected maturation. The summer she dreaded in the beginning ends up being an opportunity for her to learn about faith, family, and love. Awards
Though, all of Nicholas Sparks books have been international best sellers and nine have been New York Times Best Sellers, none of his books have one any awards. Inspiration
Nichlas Sparks' inspriation for "The Last Song" came from "A Walk To Remember". for this particular book he wrote the screen play for the movie first and then wrote the book. In an interview I read of him he said "My inspiration for the characters in my books come from people I have met" Mini-Bio

Most of Nicholas Sparks books fall into the categories of christian faith, love, tradgedy or/and faith. Nicholas Sparks :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Underlying Issues and Resolutions in the beginning Ronnie had no idea what to do with her life now that she had finished high school-she had no ambitions, no goals- but, later on aftyer she started palying the piano again she realized that was what her future held. Another small problem in the story was that Ronnie was convicted of stealing twice and then a third time she was framed but, she was not sent to jail because the real theif fessed up. One other small problem was that Blaze, a girl that Ronnie thought was her friend, thought that Ronnie was trying to steal her boyfriend Marcus, a guy that Ronnie thought was creepy, and held a grudge against her. She also framed her of stealing. In the end Blaze left Marcus and became friends with Ronnie
