Transcript of Libra

Libra The Scales Libra A long time ago, Libra was represented as the claws of Scorpius. Today, the Libra is the youngest of the Zodiac signs and is the only Zodiac sign not represented by an animal. In Greek mythology, the scales are held by Astraea, the goddess of justice. The Egyptians thought that the scales weighed hearts after a person died. A heart was placed on one side and a feather on the other, and if the heart was heavier than the feather, the person would go to the Underworld. Because of this, some Egyptians saw Libra as a feather instead of a set of scales. Libra is located between Virgo and Scorpius. It is most visible in the Northern Hemisphere in Spring.
