How has Marketing & Advertising changed?
Over the last 10 years, social media marketing has gained traction
Emailing has become an even more common way of reaching consumers
Technology has propelled Marketing into "overload"

What is this "overload"?
Consumers read, see, and hear countless advertisements daily, whether it be on television, on the radio, in their emails, while they drive, through Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat and so many others (This can be too much and become clutter and subsequently ignored)
Is beating the "overload" a new priority?
Standing out is important, especially to your target market
Making sure to have a clear message that will resonate with your consumers is important
Highlighting what the product(s) and/or service(s) will do for the customers
Because of the massive amounts of marketing that bombard consmers daily, standing out is becoming more and more imperative
Company's Reputation
Marketing can help build brand name recognition and/or product recall for many consumers
