Ellen DeGeneres Is a Great Democratic Leader What Is A Leader ~ A person who influences a person or group of people towards the achievement of a goal
~Someone that people look to to make good decisions, to support them and to motivate them Ellen's History ~She was a huge hit and attended talk
shows regularly
~Then she starred in her own sitcom
'Ellen' in 1994 ~In 1997 Ellen came out as being a lesbian
and her show was faced with a lot of
~After a lot of hate from the media 'Ellen'
was canceled
~Ellen didn't return to television until
2003 ~Ellen always wanted to be a vet but decided she
wasn't 'book smart' so she waited on tables
~Then at public event for her brother, Ellen was
frightened by the crowd and used humor to get
out of it
~She was a hit ~Ellen started off as a stand up comedian at
local coffee house
~When she was 23 she was invited to 'The
Tonight Show' starring Johnny Carson
~It was a huge accomplishment because Ellen
was the first female ever to be invited to sit
on his couch ~Ellen then had her own talk show and she
lent her voice in 'Finding Nemo' as Dory
~She was also asked to be the forth judge in
American Idol Ellen Today ~Ellen is currently married to Portia de Rossi
~It has been the highest-profiled gay marriage
~She's also in her tenth season of her talk show
'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' ~35 Daytime Emmy Awards
