Liz was born in The Bronx, New York City, NY
on September 23rd, 1980
Liz lived in a poor region of the Bronx
She was born to loving but drug-addicted parents
Her mother received a Narcotics Anonymous coin when she was trying to bargain, her daughter's coat with a drug dealer.
She became homeless at the age 15
Her mother (Jean) died of AID 's
Her father (Peter) was sent to a homeless shelter
Liz began going to Humanities
Preparatory Academy and set her goal to finish high school in
while being homeless.
"They were my friends but I was something
else... I was "Need a place to stay, can you
spare a plate of food? Do you have another
blanket? Mind if I shower? Do you have any extra...? That's what I was & I couldn't standing being that"

Liz was awarded a New York
Times scholarship for needy
students and was accepted at Harvard university.
Liz Graduated in 2006 marking the end of her journey.
