why do people have allergies?
hay fever is a common allergy that happens mostly in the spring, summer, and during the fall.
how an allergic reaction happens.
First allergens enter the body and are taken up by surrounding nearby immune cells and eventually transported to the mast cells. the allergen binds around to the corresponding IgE on the mast cells surface. the binding starts a series of events.first mast cells release a chemical called histamine. Histamine, in turn, triggers or sets off many of the symptoms to an allergic reactions such as sneezing, itching and swelling.Next, mast cells produce other chemicals called meidators.mediators make an allergic reaction last longer. they do this by directly causing allergic symptoms and by attracting other immune cell's that prolong and intensify or worsen the reaction.
the exact causes of a allergic reaction reaction are still being tested. but, it is known that these are do to immune system pathways that lead to inflammation after an encounter with allergic protestants
in the environment these protestants are mostly from plant pollens, animal dander, and insect venom or certain foods.
