Jealous: Someone feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages.
Xenophobic: Someone with an intense or irrational fear of people from other countries.
Knightly: Someone who is noble, courageous, and generous.
Cantankerous: Someone who is bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative.
Jack is the coolest guy at school and Jeff isn't cool, so Jeff holds a grudge against Jack.
With ISIS planning to attack America, Americans become more afraid of people from Iraq.
Jason saw an old lady at the crosswalk,so he decided to help her cross the street.
Courageous: Someone who is not deterred by danger or pain; someone who is brave.
Jake hurt herself at the track meet, however he still continued to play.
Leader: The person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country.
Discouraged: Someone who lost confidence or enthusiasm.
Industrious: Someone who is diligent and hard-working.
Joshua stayed up all night up to 5:00 a.m. to work on his homework. He put all his effort into making sure he made no mistakes.
Concerned: To be worried or doubtful about someone/something.
The school board said there will be a change in staff, so Mrs. Jackson worried about her position.
Easygoing: Relaxed or casual in style or manner.
Danielle let her friends decided on dinner, because she goes with the flow.
Tolerant: Willing to accept feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own.
Hazel was Catholic and Augustus was Jewish, but she accepted him because they were good friends.
Stubborn: Refusing to change your ideas or stop doing something.
Keiyonte was told to clean her room, but she said not now because she was on her phone.

Frustrated: Feeling or expressing distress and annoyance, especially because of inability to change or achieve something.
Marcus was agitated when he couldn't figure out any of the problems.
Neil spent the whole day cleaning the floor. Later Mary spilled juice on the floor, so when Neil saw the mess he yelled at Mary to clean it up.
Captain America became the leader of the Avenger, because he was qualified and had the skills.
Hanna was confident about her science project until she saw all the other projects and lost her confidence.

Defiant: Refusing to obey something or someone.
Katniss and Peeta disobeyed the rules of The Hunger Games, that said there can only be one winner. By pulling out poison berries and attempting to eat them, so they can both win.
Hopeful: Full of hope and showing it.
Kristina's car broke down, but she stayed positive until it was fixed.
Oh well it will get fixed.
Lazy: Not liking to work hard or to be active.
Kyle was on the couch and the remote was to two feet away. He didn't get it because it was too far.
