Vocabualry Words. Diagonal: A line segment that connect two non-adjacent verics of a polygon. Here is an example.. Box and whisker plot: A graph that displays the highest and lowest quarters of data as whiskers, the middle two quarters of the data as a box and the median. In other words..

A number line of data, including median and quartiles. Here is an example: Or a straight line, that conncects with four corners. Binomial: A polynomial with two terms. Sum of two different terms. Here is an example.. Coefficient: The number that is multiplied by the variable in an algerbraic expression.
A variable or term multipled in a equation. 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 27, 34, 2 Find the median, & if there is two numbers add and divide by 2. Here is an picture example.. Absolute Value: The numrical value of a real number, without regaurd to the sign. A number without its given sign. EXAMPLE: |-4| = 4 Midpoint The point that divides a line segment into two congruent line segments. A point, that divides a line segment. Square root: One of the two equal factors of the number. A number that will go into a perfect square. 25 are 5 and -5 because 5x5= 25 and (-5) x (-5) = 25. Simplify:
To write a fraction or expression in simplest form. Or, make it to a simplier form. 4/8 simplified would be 1\2. Odds: A comparison of favorable outcomes and unfavorable outcomes.. Or in other words; Favorable and unfavorable numbers in a set of data. Probablity: A number from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%) that describes how likely an event is to occur. The probablity of 1-100 of chances. 1 out of 6. Math Example: 35.55h + 19.55g Example: x+5 for x = 11
4x + 5 Here is an example.. What are the odds of choosing a king out of the deck of cards? 4 out of 48 (but dont forget to reduce 1 out of 12.
Favorable 4 kings, unfavorable all the rest of the cards. The four would be the coefficant because its with the variable.
