When you want your class deeply involved in your lesson, hold up your hands, ready to make gestures, and say, "Mirror words!"

Your class says, "Mirror words!" picks up their hands, and mirrors your gestures as you teach.
Count your class off in 1s and 2s,
or peanut butter and jelly.

When you have an important point to make, say, "Hands and eyes!" Your students say, "Hands and eyes!" and fold their hands and stare at you intensely.
