Sunshine State
Florida is know as the Sunshine State because of its subtropical to tropical climate an annual average of 230 days of sunshine. Florida's nickname was officially adopted by the Florida state legislature in 1970.
State Animals
Florida's state bird is the Northern mockingbird. The state animal is the Florida panther. The state flower is the Orange Blossom. These are the symbols of Florida
State Tree
The state tree is a Sabal Palm Tree. This tree grows in almost every soil and has many uses, including food, medicine, and landscaping. The 1950 legislature designated the Sabal Palm tree as the state. Then in 1970 it was legislated to be on the seal.
July is the hottest month in Florida with the average up to 82°F. Florida the average temperature in January is 61°F. The best time to the sea is July where it get's up to 84°F.
Florida is the Spanish word for Land of Flowers. Florida is the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by the west of the Gulf of Mexico, by the north of Alabama and Georgia, by the east of the Atlantic Ocean, and the south of the Straits of Florida and Cuba. Florida is know for the famous National Parks like the Everglades.
Florida's Flag
Florida's flag represents the land of sunshine, flowers, palm trees, rivers and lakes. The seal represents the sun, Sabal Palm tree, a steamboat sailing, and a Native American Seminole woman scattering flowers

The orange blossom is one of the most fragrant flowers in Florida. This white flower perfumes the atmosphere throughout central and south Florida. This flower was selected in 1909
The Florida Panther is the most endangered symbol of all of Florida's symbol. This animal was elected by a group of students in 1982.
The state bird is the Northern Mockingbird. Florida elected this bird in 1927 they have extraordinary abilities; they can sing up to 200 songs, including the songs of other animals

State Butterfly
The state butterfly is the Zebra Long Wing. The Zebra Long Wing was designated the official sate butterfly in 1996. The Zebra Long Wing has long black wings that are very beautiful. They are black and white making look like a zebra.

Florida's state governor is Rick Scott. He was the 45th state governor.
Florida's population is just over 20 million people.
Florida has many endangered species. The manatee is one endangered species. The Florida Panther is very endangered. Sea turtles are also endangered.

Some of the famous people are Ted Bundy (the serial killer), Flo Rida, Mandy Moore, Tim Tebow, Mark Brunell, and many more.Tim Tebow is also very different from Utah’s people because he used to be a football player and now he is a baseball player. Flo Rida is a rapper in Florida.
