entire cities with electricity and power. But, nuclear
energy is quite possibly the most dangerous energy
out there, able to create bombs with massive fire power.
Nuclear Energy has been responsible for the biggest
disasters in history. Big examples are Chernobyl and the
Fukushima meltdown. The most common disasters are
from meltdowns. This is evidence that nuclear reactor
safety is very important to prevent these accidents.
Many have voiced their opinions on this topic. Here are some tidbits of useful information from Brittanica School Edition.
"Energy is produced when the nuclei of atoms are either split (fission) or united (fusion). Fission occurs when a heavy nucleus splits into two or more lighter segments. Fusion is the combining of two light nuclei to form a single, heavier nucleus. The energy released by the fission or the fusion of nuclei, in the form of heat, light, or other radiation, is called nuclear energy. Like energy from any other source, nuclear energy can be used to do work. The potential for cancer and genetic damage as the result of such accidents of radioactivity has led to significant public concern about the safe operation of reactors. -We believe that despite the danger it poses, it
pays off in the end, powering devices with no difficulty.
-Nuclear energy does not have the harmful effects
of pollution packaged with using it.
-Nuclear energy is more famous and used for
tools of war. In 1945, nuclear bombs dropped by America
onto Hiroshima and Nagosaki created mass devastation.
An infamous Japanese girl, Sadako Sasaki, died from lingering
radiation, more than months after the incident. Listening.

This concludes our presentation. Nuclear reactors are solely made for the prevention and mitigation of nuclear meltdowns. But throughout history, many nuclear meltdowns have occurred. Many believe people have been powerless to stop these accidents. But many also believe it is simply human error. The greatest nuclear meltdown of all time,Chernobyl, occurred partially because scientists were conducting an unauthorized test. Not taking care of the nuclear reactor was also a major factor contributing to this accident.
