Transcript of Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking By Amanda Ashley Berenguer and Stephanie Cabrera What Is Human Trafficking ? Human trafficking is an illegal trade of people and it forces them to have sex. Unfortunately, human trafficking is a world wide business. Victims can be men, women and children. Most victims are children through the ages of 6-15. What's Exploitation ? To Be Honest... Exploitation is when a person takes advantage of another person and uses them for money. An example would be selling a person for sexual acts in return for money. Human Trafficking is a modern day form of slavery. Why ? Because it can take anyone, and forces those victims to do things they normally wouldn't do. It takes children, men and women and forces them to commit illegal sex acts. Sex traffickers often target vulnerable people with histories of abuse and then use violence, threats, lies, false promises, debt bondage, or other forms of control and manipulation to keep victims involved in the sex industry. How Do People Fall Into This ? How Often Does This Happen ? Sex trafficking occurs more often than people think. Sex trafficking has been found in a wide variety of places including residential brothels, hostess clubs, online escort services, fake massage businesses, strip clubs, and street prostitution. Other victims Human traffickers also prey on those who travel alone, so that means you shouldn't be alone ! Use the buddy system ! The buddy system is to tag a friend along. Human trafficking is an expensive business. They make more money than you think. The human trafficking business makes more money than McDonald's and Nike's combined. Research indicates that human trafficking are mostly
reported in foreign countries located in Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Human trafficking occurs the most in foreign countries because the citizens aren't aware and they're more vulnerable. By vulnerable meaning they're tricked by false job opportunities. How Much Do They Make ? Any questions, comments, concerns ? Thank you for watching. :) You can prevent human trafficking by spreading awareness. You can spread awareness by speaking out in public schools or companies. Human trafficking awareness should be spread because it can happen to any one not just females. You should spread human trafficking awareness by telling your friends. You can save a life.
