Transcript of corn picker

By Dillon Bennett CORN PICKER who invented it?? Edmund Quincy invented the corn picker. He invented it for speeding up the process of harvesting foods like corn and other vegetables. when was it invented Edmund Quincy invented the corn picker in 1850 he designed the corn picker to just harvest corn it wasn't designed to harvest other vegetables. what did it do?? It harvested corn for farmers instead of having to pick it by hand it saved lots of time and and money for farmers because of how much faster it was than by hand. how did it work?? pulls the ears of corn from the stalks and husks. The ears are then passed through a "sheller" which strips the kernels from the cobs. Improvements to the combine (often called a 'harvester") do the jobs of both the picker and sheller with the same machine that is used to harvest wheat and sorghum crops.
modern day changes The corn picker was first designed to only harvest corn. Now they have changed by being able to harvest various different types of vegetables.
