Decription: This image is ironic because the sign says " subject to flooding" and it's in the middle of the desert. Decription: This image is ironic because if someone needs assistance getting Internet access, he needs to go to a website. If someone can't get on the Internet, then the person cannot go to the site for help. Description: The sign demonstrates irony because there is a curve up ahead to the left, but the sign below indicates to keep to the right. Irony is sometimes confused with coincidence. Description: This quote is ironic because if the man never had friends, then he couldn't know who his enemys are. Desription: The Titanic is an example of irony because this ship was supposed to be the ship that was the safest and was not supposed to sink. However, it sank. Analogy:
Irony is like an optical illusion- you do not get what you expect.
