Student Book pp. 40~45
Tell students the story. While telling, focus on the beginning sound of each animal.
Which animal do you like?
Did you enjoy the Mighty Animal World?

Read the story
Ask students to read the words while they are watching a video, if possible.
Ask students to choose the word that corresponds to the picture.
Ask students to follow the lines and read the names. (The kids are from the story on p. 42) If possible, ask students to write the names.
Help students describe the picture. Ask some questions to help students describe it, if needed. Then explain some words and ask them to read the story.
e.g. Look at Tim. What does he wear? What does he pull? What does he have in his wagon? . . .
Ask students to think about their own space shuttle. Then talk about it with the class. Ask questions to help them describe their space shuttle.

1. Speed Reading
-. Write and read a number of words on the board.
-. Read through the words at a good speed leaving out only one of the words.
-. Students should be listening to you read athe list of words while following along
on the board.
-. After the teacher is finish, students tell which word(s) the teacher didn't read out.
2. Missing Sound
Draw or show a picture. Beside the picture write all but one of the sounds.
(e.g. Draw or show a picture of a dog. Then write '_og' beside it and students should
say the missing sound.)
3. Ball and Cap Game
-. Students pass around a cap and a ball.
-. When the music stops, a student with the cap must take out a word card (or three or
four letter cards) and a students with a ball must read the word (or blend the letters
and read the word).
