Timeline 1886 December 9, 1886: Clarence Birdseye was born in Brooklyn, Massachusetts. 1910 1912: Birdseye moved to Labrador, Canada to become a fur trader. 1915: Clarence married Eleanor. 1920 1930 1940 1950 1956: On October 7, 1956 Clarence Birdseye died of heart failure. On September 6, 1916 Eleanor and Clarence had their first son. 1923: Birdseye started the company called "Birdseye Seafoods Inc." 1929: Birdseye Sold the Seafood company to Postum. 1930: He received a patent for the quick freeze invention. Birdseye developed a process he called anhydrous dehydration. 1949: He started the Birdseye Electric Company. About 1935: 2005: Clarence Birdseye was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. 1955: 1953: Birdseye traveled to Peru to study paper manufacturing. He found a way to improve the process of paper manufacturing. He used sugar cane waste to make the paper pulp, decreasing the process from 9 hours to 12 minutes. 1924:
Birdseye began experimenting with the process of freezing food. 1944: Birdseye invented insulated shipping containers. 1926: He made the first quick freeze machine.
