Lack of water in Jordan
High sulfur in oil shale.
No need for Desulphurization during tests, 9-10% sulfur in shale oil. Other technologies requires desulphurization using hydrogenating process which will require additional investments US$ 200-400 mln and cause additional production cost of oil more than US$7 per barrel of oil. of UTT Technology In every retorting process circle, the hot ash is returned to the Retort and mixed with the new coming of oil shale to build a mixture of two third of hot ash with one third of raw oil shale
The residence time to complete one retorting process is about 15 minutes or about 20 rotations. The Essential Feature
of UTT Technology The essential feature of technology is that UTT can quickly (in 15 minutes) be switched from mode of shale-to-oil conversion to mode shale-to-gas or shale-to-electricity conversion.
This allows using UTT as peak-smoothing power generation facility which is never staying in stand-by mode Removal by special transporting agent which is circulating in recycle
Additional line of petrochemical equipment will be required with cost about US$ 5 mln for each UTT-3000.

JORDAN Tax and Royalty Regime Oil shale projects will operate under a Tax and Royalty regime.
A tax and royalty system sensitive to profitability and oil price will be the form of fiscal arrangement for the Project.
The Royalty will be a percentage of total Project revenue, linked to oil prices through the Weighted Average Product Price.
The tax rate will be linked to the Project’s profitability through an
R-Factor.
The R-Factor will be defined as the sum of cumulative Project revenue divided by the sum of cumulative allowable Project costs. Total Project Funding for 30 Nos. Retorting Units Manufacturer of UTT is Remeksi Keskus AS. It can produce up to 4 UTT-3000 per year.
In 2.5-3 year two installation can be launched, and then each half year next two UTT-3000. 30 installations can be built in 10-12 years.
One UTT-3000 process 1 mln ton of oil shale per year, working time not less than 7200 hours per year. Oil production roughly will be 1 mln bbl per year from one UTT depending on the oil content.
All infrastructure and mining operation must be arranged simultaneously with processing plant.
For 30 installations area 1 Km2 will be required. This includes infrastructural and administrative facilities. Site Arrangement Pharmaceutical production (antibiotics, psychotropic).

JORDAN Tax and Royalty Regime Oil shale projects will operate under a Tax and Royalty regime.
A tax and royalty system sensitive to profitability and oil price will be the form of fiscal arrangement for the Project.
The Royalty will be a percentage of total Project revenue, linked to oil prices through the Weighted Average Product Price.
The tax rate will be linked to the Project’s profitability through an
R-Factor.
The R-Factor will be defined as the sum of cumulative Project revenue divided by the sum of cumulative allowable Project costs. Total Project Funding for 30 Nos. All infrastructure and mining operation must be arranged simultaneously with processing plant.
