Wassily Kandinsky We live here. Kandinsky was born in Moscow, Russia almost 150 years ago. Kandinsky was born in Russia in 1866, and died in France in 1944. Kandinsky is said to be the first ABSTRACT artist. Abstract art uses lines, colors and shapes instead of pictures. He was so interested in color that he wrote books about it. He thought about what colors mean and how they look together. Today... We are going to try Kandinsky's "Color Study of Squares."
