11-14 Prezi 1. What causes frustration for Jonas?

The fact that they can't make their own decisions because they might make the wrong choice. 2. What is Jonas’ first startling and disturbing memory? What is his reaction?

When he saw people cut the tusk from a motionless elephant, but he was overwhelmed to observe the color red after the tusks were ripped off and the elephants had to do was bleed. 3. Is the Giver married? Explain about his marriage relationship.

He did have a spouse, but no she lives with the Childless Adults. 4. Why is a Receiver necessary in the community?

Because the memories would be lost, and they would go back to the place that they had come from before the Receiver received them. 5. What does Jonas wonder about when he’s not with the Giver?

He wondered about the distance he had never gone before. 6. Why does the Giver sometimes send him away?

Sometimes he is in pain. 7. What is the first painful memory and what is its effect on Jonas?

When he fell off the sled and his leg was clumped under and he scraped his face on the ice. 8. What do he and the Giver have to hold painful memories?

It gives them wisdom. 9. Why can’t everyone have memories, to share?

Everyone would be burdened with pain. 10. What’s wrong with Gabriel?

He won't go to sleep during the night, and he keeps keeping them up at night. 11. What happens when twins are born?

One gets nurtured and the other one gets released. The smaller one is the one that gets released.
