Marie Curie She was born on November 7, 1867 Born in Warsaw, VistulaLand, Russian Empire Picture Courtesy of Wikipedia She went to the Sorbonne to study mathematics, chemistry, and physics in 1891. She recieved her first lesson in chemistry and physics from her father. The two elements that she discovered were radium and polonium.

It was used to paint the hands and numbers on some clocks and watches. It was used to make these things glow. Exposure to radium can cause cancer.
Marie Curie's cause of death was aplastic anemia, a disease where bone marrow doesn't produce enough cells.
She used radium as a night light when she wanted to do work in her laboratory at night.
