how people risk their lives for others
18 year old teenagers would go to war and they would sacrifice them selves for others because they knew that the other men had families and family is important to them.
injuries and sickness.
because of the conditions in the trenches, many men did not survive they died from bullets, bugs & diseases.

life in the trenches

because their could be a person who's wife is pregnant and they need to give their wife company so some people might just be brave and risk their soul for that person
because others didn't have a choice and some did so then the people who did would want to go to war and fight for those who didn't.
