The Colosseum was originally called the Flavian Ampitheatre.
It is the biggest ampitheatre made by the Romans covering 6 acres of land.
100,000 cubic meters of travertine stone was used to make the Colosseum's outer wall.
The actual arena inside the Colosseum was 76 by 44 meters and 48 meters high.
The Colosseum was built in an ovular shape with 80 arches on each of its 3 stories. The floor of the arena was made of wooden planks, but it was covered in sand for shows so the floor wouldn't have bloodstains on it.
