Lincoln Vrtex 360

Virtual welding

$46,500 Education and training Tool
Implementing virtual reality welding into a traditional classroom
Good for supplemental welding training

Designed to accelerate the welding training through virtual reality

Can be used to simulate
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Weld joint configurations
Tee joint
Flat Plate
2" Pipe
6" Pipe
Groove Joint
Multiple Welding Positions
For Plate
Overhead For Pipe
Variety of different welding enviornments
Football Stadium
Construction Site
Work Shop

Teaches students to read the puddle
The weld puddle reacts to the students movements
Simulates sparks, slag, grinding, and weld cooling
Discontinuities appear when improper welding techniques are used Weldometer
Used to track material usage
Verify cost savings
Track student arc time User Profiles
USB port for use of saving user profiles and progress in PDF style
Many users can use the same machine
Profile names are entered into the machine through the key board
User profile information is viewed through the a monitor mounted to the top of the welding machine. Advatages over conventional welding
Does not use consumables such as gases, electrodes, filler rods, and base metal
Much cleaner, no ventilation needed, or clean up after welding
No weld prep time, just turn on and go
State of the art technology
Learn how to weld in a enviornmentally friendly way, no wasted materials, and less electical consumption than running a full welding shop
Allows instructor to track there students progress easily
Advanced scoring system for student evaluation
The instructor cam allows virtual weld inspection

How it works
It is built to look and work like a actual welding machine. There is a power source with all the same controls from a conventional welder to set your parameters. The welding gun have sensors on them that react to the welders every movement. The welding helmet has a LCD screen that displays what the welder is doing.
