Squidward is portrayed as being careless, ill-tempered, pretentious, cynical, and grouchy, residing in a moai situated in between SpongeBob SquarePants's pineapple house and Patrick Star's rock, to his misfortune. He intensely despises his neighbors for their perpetual laughter and constant boisterous, noisy behavior and play, though the pair are oblivious to Squidward's animosity for them and see him as a friend. Squidward also lives in a neverending state of self-pity and misery, aggravated and unhappy with the humdrum lifestyle he currently leads, and yearns for celebrity status, wealth, and a far more glamorous and distinguished career as a celebrated musician or painter, with a passion for art and playing the clarinet
SpongeBob has often considered Sandy as one of his friends. Though, some fans believe that SpongeBob and Sandy have something going on dates (crushes). The relationship is sometimes referred to by fans as "Spandy".
Eugene Herold krabs
Mr. Krabs or called Krabs by Plankton and frequently called by Eugene, is a crimson sea crab who is the owner of the Krusty Krab as well as the employer of both SpongeBob SquarePants and Squidward Tentacles.
Gary the Snail is SpongeBob's pet snail. Gary usually can only say "meow", while sea worms in the show bark, which indicates that snails are the ocean equivalent of cats and worms are dogs
Plankton has spent a long period of time trying to destroy the Krusty Krab by stealing the Krabby Patty formula, a franchise owned and operated by Mr. Krabs. He is married to a computer named Karen. He always fails in attempt to steal the Krabby Patty formula.
who created spongebob?
The name "SpongeBoy" did not make it into the show since the name was already officially trademarked by Bob Burden, creator of Flaming Carrot. Hillenburg later chose the alternative name "SpongeBob". The Krusty Krab was originally spelled with the letter C rather than K, but Stephen Hillenburg thought Ks were funnier and it would fit his Ukrainian heritage.SpongeBob's signature voice, provided by Tom Kenny, and humorous style was enjoyable to both younger and older audiences.
Beginning, peak popularity (1999-2003)
SpongeBob aired its first episode, "Help Wanted/Reef Blower/Tea at the Treedome", after the 1999 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Nickelodeon quietly ordered a second season of the series, with what some believed to be better writing and animation. The show propelled into stardom, with the help of a huge merchandising campaign that continues to this day. A third season began in 2001, and ended in 2003.
During that time, the crew had completed the third production order and began working on “The SpongeBob SqaurePants Movie” in 2002. Nickelodeon, having aired half the season, decided to spread the remaining episodes out over two years. The show declined in popularity soon as rumors of cancellation spread. After three years, "SpongeBob Meets The Strangler/Pranks A Lot" was the last episode of season three, originally released on VHS and DVD in January 2004 before airing on television in November of that year.
"I've been a fan of SpongeBob SquarePants for a long time, and consider it to be one of the best cartoons in the past ten years. But I also have to confess that the cheerful sponge and I parted company some time ago. I'm not sure I can peg the exact moment I stopped paying close attention to the hit series. I think it occurred sometime around the special episode "Dunces and Dragons", though I also remember feeling doubts about where things were headed while watching "SpongeBob B.C.". I really couldn't put my finger on what bothered me about those specials... but there was definitely something off-putting about them, and not long afterward I stopped seeking out new episodes. ...it's a disappointment to watch as the show becomes something it once wasn't: Just another kid-pandering attention-waster
