Transcript of Aztecs, Incas and Mayas - Steven's Homework Task

And Why I Think They were More Influential Than the Other Civilisations The Aztecs Weapons Why They were Defeated Inventions Used Today Something that happened recently... Location One Last Thing... The Aztecs used a lot of weapons that were common in Medieval eras, using weapons such as slings, bows and arrows, and spears. Since I am quite interested in Medieval style weapons, this is an important category for me. Since the Aztecs were the civilisation that stood up against the Spanish and won a few battles, this is quite interesting whereas the Mayas and Incas, who had similar weapons crumbled easily. Also, I have included a drawing of another weapon that the Aztecs used, called the atlatl. How it is used is explained in my notes. The Spanish had better weapons and strategy than the Aztecs. They fought in ways that didn't concur with the way battles should be fought according to the Aztecs. The Aztecs fought to capture, while the Spanish fought to kill. The Aztecs invented chinampa farming. As I explained in my notes, it was a group of man-made islands in the river with plants on them. It is a idea that is still used today.
They also had a hand in the development of the cocoa bean into chocolate. This is not really an opinion, but I though I would just include the location of the Aztec civilisation. They expanded their lands every time they conquered a country and people. Here is a drawing of where the Aztecs where located. A while ago, there was belief that the world was going to end in 2012, to be more specific, in December. The reason was that was when the Mayas' 52-year calendar ran out. So if a lot of people believed the world was going to end, that must mean that the Mayas had at least some influence on modern day lifestyle. The Aztecs were involved in the making of chocolate! Thank You for Watching.
I hope you learned a lot about the Aztecs. I certainly did.
