Babe Ruth was the most famous player on the Yankees team. Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs in his career. His nickname was "The Great Bambino". He came to the Yankees in 1920 from the Red Sox. Babe played 22 seasons. That is why he is the most famous player on the Yankees.

The team was based on The Bronx of New York. They were founded in Baltimore, Maryland, as the Baltimore Orioles. They moved to New York and became the New York Highlanders in 1903. In 1913 they became the New York Yankees. The team is owned by Yankees Global Enterprises. That's the start of the team

Yankee Stadium opens April 18, 1923. The old Yankee Stadium closed in 2008 while the new stadium is being built. The new Yankee Stadium is built in 2009. Yankee Stadium is located in the South Bronx of New York. That's Yankee Stadium.

Yankees win world series 1923, 1927, 1928, and 1932. They win six consecutive world series 1936-1941. Yankees win five consecutive world series 1948-1953. Yankees win world series 1943, 1956, 1962, 1977, 1978, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009. Those are the world series.

The founder of the team was Harry Von Der Horst. The team was missing money so he made a deal with Brooklyn. He grew up in Baltimore and as a little kid he dreamed of playing baseball. Harry died in 1905. That is the founder of the team.

The older uniform has black and white stripes on the right part of the chest. the Baltimore Orioles uniform has a button up shirt with an orange O on the right part of the chest.
