Benefits for all stakeholders

From IATE to IATE 2

or when technologies are agents of change

and means to improve users’ satisfaction

1

Technologies taken on board for IATE 2

New front-end and back-end technologies selected so as to allow IATE 2 to be built

based on a microservices architecture:

Back-end: Java 7, REST, JMS, SQL

Front-end: AngularJS

Data Storage: Oracle Database

Search feature: ElasticSearch

Application Server: Weblogic

Outdated for this project

Back end: JAVA Struts framework v1.x, MVC framework currently fully outdated.

Front end: Servlets / JSP / JSTL / Struts taglibs/ mixed with HTML and CSS

Sometimes all in one page. A complete outdated way to build pages. Too heavy to maintain.

Searching: Oracle Text

2

IATE Extract and web services for public users (public money invested also to meet citizen's needs)

Systematic re-use of content through an enhanced integration of IATE data into the CAT environment (automatic bilingual exports from IATE,document-specific termbases from IATE)

Data interactively accessible by translators in their working environment

Entries shared between terminologists, in-house translators and external translators
