Attitude A Dream Within A Dream
By: Edgar Allen Poe
Prezi by:Priscilla Lilley& Raymond Doreck Title The attitude of this poem is Loving,
Hopeful, but in a Sarcastic manner. Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow:
You are not wrong who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream? A Dream Within A Dream Let me kiss your forehead,
And I love you now
To let me avenge
You are not wrong like people say you are
I have been dreaming
If my hope has run out
Within night and day
In a vision or in none
If we can’t see it, is it really gone?
All that see or seem
Is a Dream Within A Dream.

I stand in the middle of the roar
Of a wave-filled beach
And in my hand I hold
The sand
It’s just a little bit but they fall through
Through my fingers they fall
I cry! I cry!
Oh god why can’t I hold it?
Maybe if I hold it tighter
Oh god I cannot save it
Not even one grain from the waves
That is all we see
Just a dream within a dream. When I first read the title, I thought that it
was going to be about a person
dreaming about a dream. Shifts CONNOTATION Rhymes brow, now, avow
