Before the coral reef turns into an atoll, it has to start as a Volcano, then it sink in to the ocean, and after it completely sinks it turns into an atoll.
Plants and Animals
Here are two amazing creatures and two peculiar plants that you could see at a coral reef.
Algae is green, slimy, and sticky. Algae grows on a dugong. It keeps spreading and sticking to rocks. You can see this above and under water. The next time you take a hike look for some algae.
Acropora is a very cool kind of coral and it is
shaped as a table. It's usaully the colors green, yellow, or tan Their nickname is coral table.
A moray eel is a very vicious speices and unlike a dugong. It's the biggest species of eel living in warm water. Did you know that they can come in the colors grey, black, brown, white, yellow, green, blue, and orange. They eat squid, fish, and crustaceans. Moray eels are known for there sharp teeth and long bodies.
A dugong is an animal close to a cow and a manatee. They are slow and not vicious. Their species is threatened but they can live up to be 70 years old. Believe it or not dugongs can weigh up to 1,100 pounds. Dugongs are mammals, herbivores, and have rough lips.
Fiji, Hawaii, Bermuda, Mexico, Australia, Asia Pacific, and North Pacific Ocean.
The climate of the coral reef is tropical, but dry. Northeast winds and a little seasonal temperture is usaully what accures. Maybe a little bit of rain but not often.
