España
LA CAPITAL: MADRID

Hechos interesantes:
-In Spain, there are two other languages spoken other than the Spanish we speak (Castellano;) Catalan and Basque.
-A very popular

in Spain is bullfighting.
-Spain is home to two of the world's most famous soccer teams, Real Madrid y Barcelona.
-Flamenco dance comes from this country.
México
LA CAPITAL: MEXICO D.F.

-México is the largest Spanish speaking country in the world with 112.3 million people.
-A popular

in México is menudo, a soup made with beef intestines.
-The Mexican National Soccer team beat Brazil in the Olympics in 2012 and took the gold medal.
Conquista de las Américas
In the 1500s, Spanish explorers also known as conquistadores came to the Americas to take over the land in the name of España. These conquistadores conquered the native peoples already living in the land. (Aztecs, Mayas, and Incas)

- Hernán Cortes conquered Mexico in 1519.
-Francisco Pizarro conquered Perú in 1532.
