So what is
Twitter is a real time information network! It's a simple way to keep up to date with the latest stories, ideas, opinions and news that interest you.
At the heart of Twitter are small bursts of information called Tweets. You can discover a lot in a short amount of time. You can see photos, videos and conversations directly in Tweets from many users, and all in one place.
Scoop. It is another type of information network. However, it differs from Twitter in that information is published or downloaded as articles in a magazine style and format.
?
What TrendsMap.com does is display trending topics geographically.
For example, here you can see what the major topics were that Twitter users in Britain were talking about on Monday 21st January 2013.
Hand Held Learning (the ipad)
ipad applications for eductaion
The iPad inspires creativity and hands-on learning with features you won’t find in any other educational tool — on a device that students really want to use.
The ipad is now changing the classroom!
Check the progress of group members, upload grades, mark work online, etc
Dropbox is a free service that lets you access all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. This means that any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website.
Dropbox works hard to make sure that all your files are the same no matter where you're working from. This means that you can start working on a computer at school or the office, and finish from your home computer.
Never email yourself a file again! Dropbox lets you work from any computer or phone with the confidence that you'll always have everything you need.
Dropbox makes sharing so easy that you'll be amazed at the things you can do. Invite your friends, family and teammates to any folder in your Dropbox, and it'll be as if you saved that folder straight to their computers.
You can send people links to specific files in your Dropbox too. This makes Dropbox perfect for team projects, sharing party photos with friends, or recording your band's new album.
Even if your computer has a meltdown, your stuff is always safe in Dropbox and can be restored in a snap.
Dropbox is like a time machine that lets you undo mistakes and even undelete files you accidentally trash. Your Dropbox is always ready for action from the Dropbox website too!
People around the world rely on Dropbox to help them design buildings, compose music, run businesses, write books and even coordinate disaster relief.
Whether you're an entrepreneur or a teacher, a photographer or an astronomer, an artist or an activist, Dropbox simplifies your life.
Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers by engaging their classrooms with a series of educational exercises and games. Our apps are super simple and take seconds to login. Socrative runs on tablets, smartphones, and laptops.
Simple and Smart
Teachers login through their device and select an activity which controls the flow of questions and games. Students simply login with their device and interact real time with the content.
Engaging
Student responses are visually represented for multiple choice, true/false and Short Answer questions. For pre-planned activities a teacher can view reports online as a google spreadsheet or as an emailed Excel file.
Assessment
Now it’s easier than ever to unleash the full potential of iPad in your classroom by creating your own custom courses for iPad.
iTunes U for iPad
Your iTunes U courses can include all the items you would use in a traditional course: a syllabus, handouts, quizzes, and so on. And they can include your own video and audio lectures, as well as interactive elements such as content and links from the Internet, iBookstore, App Store and iTunes Store.
Create and distribute your own courses.
Teach with iTunes U.
Students can access all the materials for the course right at their fingertips. They can listen to lectures, read iBooks textbooks, watch videos and stay on top of assignments. You can also post an update or send a message to your class.
