Transcript of Google's Project Soli
How does it work?
Benefits To This Technology
This technology uses something called Broad Beam Radar which measures Doppler Image, IQ and Spectogram
The Radar transmits radio waves towards a specific target and the energy from the object that is intersecting the radio waves is then collected by the sensor
The sensor reads these different intersections and performs a specific task related to the gesture
With benefits, there are also disadvantages to this technology
Since this technology is fairly new to the industry, the cost of this technology will be very high. But as time goes on the cost will eventually go down
Most of the gestures may require training for larger scale use and this may consume time before actual usage begins
As for the use within classes, it can be a distraction for the students as this technology is new and most students will be curious to try it out
Gesture- Based technology has many benefits to it
Gesture- based technology allows the user to interact with a virtual environment
This can be very beneficial within learning as it can be very engaging and interactive
Through this technology the learning can be more student based learning compared to a teacher centered type of learning

Google's Project Soli is a new approach to gesture based technology
Soli will be using technology that allows you to interact with different technology mediums through simple gestures
It is a project currently in the works by Google
