Impact on Culture Simon Bolivar won independence for many countries. He won independence for Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela. He also made upper Peru into its own country, Bolivia. Simon Bolivar today Bolivia and Venezuela (which is also known as the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) are both named after Simon Bolivar.
Many cities in Venezuela and Colombia have statues and places named after Simon Bolivar.
Simon Bolivar is influential to many political leaders in South America. Hugo Chavez is one politician that was influenced by him. Simon Bolivar Simon Bolivar has been a political leader in many places. Simon Bolivar has been president of Gran Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, and Bolivia. South American presidents today have been influenced by him.
