Stan Lee's real name was once Stanley Martin Lieber. He changed it because he wanted to be a novel writer and didn't want people to know that he had written comic books in the past.
Stan Lee joined Timely Comics (later known as Marvel Comics) in 1939 and became its editor in 1941.
Stan Lee joined the army to serve in World War II from 1942-1945, and learned that the people who read comic books the most at the time were actually soldiers.
Stan Lee's first independant comic was the X-men series.
Stan Lee has made over 300 comic books in his career. He's made even more seperate characters!
