HEALING E.G.O.
A NEWLY FOUND CREAM FOR
INFECTED WOUND

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES..
i. To prepare the extract of E. guineensis leaves.
ii. To study the wound healing properties of E. guineensis leaf extract in rats infected with S. aureus.
iii. To study the effect of E. guineensis methanolic leaf extract in the expression of MMP-8 and MMP-9.
The leaves were cut into small pieces and rinsed with distilled water.
The E. guineensis leaves were oven dried at 40'C.
The leaves were ground into fine powder.
The leaf powder was extracted by maceration method
The leaf powder was added with methanol and macerated for 4 days.
The extract was concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The crude extract was then freeze dried.

This study suggests that Healing E.G.O can be used as
