Transcript of Dr. Sun Yatsen

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Born on November 12, 1866 to a tuiheng village Hsiangshan county, Kwangtung province of China. He was born to a peasant parentage. He is referred to as "Father of the Nation" He played a major role in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty on October in 1911. Sun was the first provisional president when the Republic of China was founded in 1912. He died in 1924, with China in ruins. Even though he died his ideas still infulences the basis of the Nationalist government established by Chiang Kai- sheck in 1928. He grew up in Hawii being raised by his older brother. He then went to school to study medicine in Hong Kong, he graduated in1892 . He then started working in Macao, Guangzhou and Honolulu. In 1895 he took part in his first abortive uprising at Guangzhou He went to Hawaii in October 1894 and founded the Revive China Society. He did this to unviel the goal of the China and as the basis for the future revolutionary activites.

Three principles he based his ideas of revolution on were:
nationalism
democracy
equalism Since the beginning he was very influenced by Abraham Lincoln’s idea of republicanism, which was: "government of the people, by the people, for the people" In 1895 a coup he plotted failed. Some of his supporters were executed so for the next sixteen years he was in exile in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Japan. During exile he began raising money for his revolutionary party and bankrolling uprisings in China. " Father of the Nation Day"
will be celebrated on October the 12.
October is the month her played a major role in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty and and 12th is the date he was born in November. By:Allison Quinley
