We use Words Their Way to improve students literacy skills.
Words Their Way is an instructional approach providing an integrated way to teach phonics, vocabulary, and spelling.
Students are pre-assessed, teachers analyze their strengths and errors and place them into groups based on their instructional level.
Word Study encourages active exploration and examination of word features that are within a students' stage of literacy.
Students use higher level thinking skills (such as comparing and contrasting) to sort words/pictures into different categories, looking at word features and discovering consistencies.

What's New in
Second Grade

I am a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and was blessed to attend grade school here at Concordia when I was a young student
.

I have B/A in Sports Management and minor in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University. Currently, I am in my last year of taking online classes at Liberty University in the area of counseling.

My interests are Bible study, sports, entertaining, cooking and sharing my faith with others. My favorite charity is the Pregnancy Care Center of Catawba County. In lieu of gifts during seasonal times of the year, I would be very grateful for donations to this charity.
